My name is Dr. Tanya Kelloway, TCM, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

DSC_2304 Edit2My practice is about a journey of discovery, to discover who my patients are and what their health issues are. Together we partner to make choices that will unleash their bodies’ ability to heal itself. And that is a rewarding journey.

Bringing together western medicine with the holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, I treat your body as a whole.

With my knowledge of western massage therapy and the musculoskeletal system, and my eastern medical training in how the body is a collection of systems, I can treat you for a range of health issues.

With Acupuncture and Chinese herbs, I have successfully treated patients with health problems throughout the whole body. These include: anxiety, depression, addictions, migraines, headaches, sinus infections, colds and flu, dizziness, heart palpitations, musculoskeletal pain, infertility, urinary tract infections, infertility, internal organ issues, Bells Palsy, Phantom Pain Syndrome, and digestive problems.

The medicine I practice is complementary to western medicine. I support patients undergoing cancer treatments which reduces the negative effects of their chemotherapy, and help them with post-cancer rebalancing.

I have been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture in Calgary for four years. I am registered with the Alberta Association of Traditional Chinese Medical Doctors, and I took some of my training in China.

I am also an active board member of the AATCMD where I can advocate for public awareness and education about the role TCM plays and could play in the health care of Albertans.

My Approach

To begin the process of understanding your body as a whole, I use an extensive diagnostic tool, my “Report of Findings.” With this tool, I learn as much as possible about all aspects of your body, your overall health, your lifestyle, and your concerns. I believe that you cannot and should not treat the body as a collection of pieces, or separate parts.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

After being a massage therapist for years, I became interested in how a problem in one part of the body can lead to problems in another part of the body because of how all the organs and systems are meant to work together. That led me to Traditional Chinese Medicine, which understands the human body with meridians, connections between organs, muscles, nerves, and other systems. TCM is based on knowledge gained and practices refined over thousands of years in China, practices with a lot of verifiable evidence and scientific foundations.

I am intrigued by how my patients respond quickly and effectively to treatments of acupuncture, and also Chinese herbs. I believe that health involves the body, mind, and soul, and that the body is more than a sum of parts.

Let me share my knowledge with you. Let me help you reach a place of greater understanding of your own body, and to a state of greater, harmonious health.

Let me partner with you to help your body heal itself.
